According to Amb Mohamed Ali Nur's social media (Facebook) Post, in January 2026, the Port of Mogadishu set a new record, reaching a record monthly container throughput of 21,650 TEU, handled by 16 container ships. This was the highest monthly performance in the port’s history, reflecting the growing confidence of international shipping companies and the improvement in the port’s operational efficiency.
